the back stroke

Other times, an image can be entertaining because of what it portrays. Whales have long fascinated us and this is one of my favourites, not because it is a technical masterpiece, but because the whale looks as if just enjoying life. The is a Beluga doing a back stroke.

you can't claim that as your own. certainly not in a postmodern world where no one truth is certain.

Anyway - where is the drama - the motion and blurr? This seems to have been taken from a 'safe' position - where is the worms eye view (with the sunset and jugglers)? Anyone can click a shutter at 1/1000th sec and grab a white whale having fun. You even think it's a favourite you wimp. I am favourite. Now paint the roses.

True, but isn't his true of any photo in the world? As my girlfriend said, "Anyone can look good for a millionth of a second." So why are there any photographs at all? What's the point?

Anyone can click a shutter etc but obtaining that 'decisive moment' (on a regular basis rather than trusting to luck) is a skill and an art. When the two are combined with jugglers and sunsets - it's just Royal Jelly.
