Silence- the avoidance of mentioning or discussing something. Whether it be politicians, or journalists in all the forms of media, there is a relative silence on various issues. The devastation brought upon people in Zimbabwe by the ruling government is appalling. Where are the discussions on this issue? In the media? Amongst political parties? In the United Nations?
A similar problem is found in relation to Sudan.
Yet some conflicts and problems that maybe could be called 'trendy' gather enormous coverage and discussion.
This small vigil highlights the silence that exists in our public political and social space.
